You are invited! Join my free online New Moon Circle, July 24 at 7 pm Eastern
What can we dream up, alone and together, in the revelatory darkness of the New Moon?
Greetings, friends.
Lately I have been thinking about the importance of setting clear intentions, as we move through our days constantly buffeted by other people’s stories, other people’s energies and desires.
What is the daily news but a collection of other people’s stories?
It’s not that we should turn away or bury our heads in the sand—we must pay attention, be informed and act on our values and convictions.
But we do not have to let ourselves be so distracted that we lose track of our own purposes and intentions.
What is mine to do? How can I contribute positive energies to this battered, distressed world of ours?
To help myself and others stay grounded and centered in tumultuous times, I will be hosting a series of free online New Moon circles, beginning on July 24 at 7 pm Eastern.
Each hour-long session will invite deep inquiry into our dreams, desires and goals, reveling in the New Moon darkness as a time of potentiality—a time to set intentions for the coming month, as well as to take stock of how last month’s intentions have progressed or perhaps been stymied.
Our practice will be guided by the overarching goal of raising our own creative vibrations, knowing that as we do so we become beacons that attract and nourish others, in ripples of inspiration that make the world brighter.
I will offer some provocative starting points for reflection, encouraging you to bring your imagination to a writing practice designed to open your heart as you inquire into ways you can brighten your own life, as well as the lives of those around you, human and more-than-human alike.
In honor of the active hope and positive grace that trail-blazing spiritual ecologist Joanna Macy is modeling for us in her time of transition, we will use her invaluable “Spiral of the Work That Reconnects” as our theme for July’s New Moon.
Please join me on July 24 at 7 pm Eastern for an hour of inquiry and reflection in good company, shining our lights together in the darkest moment of the month. These free online circles, hosted by the Birth Your Truest Story writers’ community, are open to all creative spirits. Bring a friend!
If you’d like to learn more about Joanna Macy’s work, particularly as it relates to my practice of purposeful memoir, check out this article from Deep Times Journal, the magazine of the Work That Reconnects Network.
When great teachers pass on, we honor them best by picking up the torch they carried, and becoming the torchbearers ourselves.
This New Moon, let Joanna Macy guide and inspire you to go forth more intentionally to create the future you want to leave to those who will come after us.
See you in the circle.
Jennifer
