Maybe it’s the tantalizing whiffs of crisp autumnal air we’ve been having lately. Maybe it’s the waxing Equinox Moon, or the stormy Sun. Maybe it’s that I’ve got my horse legs under me and am settling into a regular riding schedule for the fall.
Whatever the reason, I have been feeling a sense of movement lately, an awareness of forward motion that is at once exhilarating and a bit frightening, like riding a strong ocean wave up to its curling, foamy tip and feeling the strong downward pull on the other side.
It's an intensification of the sense of urgency I've felt for some time now—the now-or-never sense that there is no time to waste.
Unfortunately, the urgency does not necessarily come with clarity about how best to spend my precious time.
But exploration seems to be a watchword that I keep coming back to.
I am aware of a standing invitation to expand my boundaries, both inner and outer, in an unceasing process of learning and growing—going within to explore the deep, often surprising expanses of my psyche; and letting those insights inform my work in the outer, material world.
And I have the strong sense that I am to share this work with others.
So this fall I'm excited to share two new online workshop series that use writing to open a portal between the inner and the outer landscapes.
Writing to Right the World—my signature class!
For the first time, I'll be sharing my signature college class, Writing to Right the World, with a broader audience, in a four-session live online series that will move from passion to purpose to how to get your writing successfully out into the world.
The first session, “Finding Purpose Through Passion,” will take place on Monday, September 30, from 6 - 7:30 pm Eastern. In this class, we’ll explore how to channel your emotions into words, and how to let go of fear so that you can most powerfully write to right the world.
The class will continue on October 21 with “Finding the Right Genre & Voice”; November 18 with “Finding Allies and Joining the Conversation,” and conclude on December 16 with a “Draft workshop for Worldwrights.”
The cost for all four sessions is $149. All classes will be recorded for later viewing.
Hosted by Birth Your Truest Story.
Birthing a Thriving Future: Weaving a Personal Narrative with Personal and Planetary Threads
With Dr. Spring Cheng, I'll be offering four free live online sessions in Mythic Memoir this fall, introducing "Birthing a Thriving Future: Weaving a Personal Narrative with Planetary and Mythical Threads," the 10-session online class we'll be teaching together starting in January 2025.
In the first free class, Unearth the Primal Intelligence of your Original Self, get a taste of the power that is unleashed when you reconnect with your Original Self by unearthing early memories and experiences. Monday, Oct. 28, 3 – 4 pm ET.

Announcing my 2025 Tuscan Memoir Writing Retreat!
Thinking further ahead, I'm delighted to announce that my 2025 Tuscan Memoir Retreat will take place September 27 - October 4 at a private villa in San Giovanni d'Asso, warmly hosted by Il Chiostro.
The truth is that great writing doesn’t come from spending long days hunched over your screen; it comes when you are able to relax and open the doors to your creative imagination wide. That’s why this retreat is not just about writing memoir, it’s also about living fully in the moment!
Whether you’re an emerging or an established writer, this magical Tuscan retreat will nourish your sense of wellbeing and delight, allowing you to tap deeply into your own imaginative well.
Space is limited; reserve your spot now!
Friends, there is so much I am unsure about, but one thing I know: each of us came into this life to make a positive difference in the world, and words are a wonderful way to make that happen.
But words are just superficial chatter unless they are fueled by the deep insight of our mythic, transpersonal psyches.
This fall, I invite you to tune out the noise and reach for what matters most, to you and to our world. Get your stories on paper, and share them with a world so in need of depth and wisdom.
Can there be any better use of our time than such an exploration, in good company?
Yours in the unfolding mystery,
Jennifer
Two conversations on why reaching for a positive vision is so important
I recently had an opportunity to talk with visionary writer Beth Barany on her podcast, How to Write the Future.
These are short but deep dives into what we call, after Rupert Read and Manda Scott, Thrutopian writing: writing that lays out a positive vision and imagines our way through to that thriving future.
You can listen to our first conversation here, and the continuation here. Enjoy!
Friends, it’s my pleasure and my passion to support you as we stretch towards living our lives creatively and to the fullest.
The motto of my author consulting business is “Writing to Right the World,” and the motto of my book publishing business, Green Fire Press, is “Books that Make the World Better.”
If these intentions resonate with you and you are working on a book, or have one in mind, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Supporting creative people bring their work more strongly out into the world is one way I try to make the world better.
