I have something simple but profound to share with you today, friends.
The psychic field is real.
What is the psychic field, you may ask?
It encompasses the collective unconscious of Jung, the transpersonal reality of Stanislav Grof and the noosphere of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.
It encompasses both our waking reality and the digisphere, as well as our dreaming reality and the quantum matrix.
It is the infinite unified cosmic Psyche, to which everything belongs: every pulse of light, every particle, every cell, every aspect of the physical and metaphysical fabric of the universe.
Though much about the psychic field is beyond our control, we can control how we show up.
And we have some say about how we choose to let the general tenor of the field affect us.
The psychic field on much of planet Earth has been at a high emotional pitch for a long time. The negative emotions of fear, anxiety, outrage and anger are running rampant in all areas of the psyche, most especially in the digisphere.
Here is my simple suggestion—move towards what makes you feel good, and share those good feelings in the psychic field.
No, I am not advocating spiritual bypass.
I’m not suggesting that you bury your head in the sand, don rose-colored glasses, or try to pull a wake-me-when-it’s-over Rip Van Winkle number.
It’s important to stay aware of what’s happening in the ordinary world of politics and society, because as human beings alive today, each of us is being called to responsibly play our part in how the present and the future unfold.
But to play our part well, we have to free ourselves from the tentacles of all the negative emotions flooding the psychic field.
Seriously!
We can’t let ourselves be dragged down and bowled over by the constant barrage of bad news and scary stories. We have to stay grounded and let all of that wash over us, taking in the information while staying firm in the knowledge that out there in the psychic field, in the cosmos that sustains this troubled world we live in, all is well.
The image that comes to me is of a kelp forest in a storm. Each strand of kelp is rooted to the seabed, while its graceful fronds bend and sway in the waves. We have to bend and sway, psychically, these days.
Yes, we feel the suffering and heartache of those who are most directly affected by the political, social and environmental storms that are upon us.
But adding our own fear and distress to the psychic field will do no one any good.
We can make a positive difference by sending out a steady stream of compassion, along with vivid visions of the better world we yearn for and aspire to co-create.
I know these are not new ideas. But I think it’s worth reminding ourselves, again and again, that what we put into the psychic field matters.
The field is the collective sea to which each of our individual waves contributes.
As we drop our own small pebble of consciousness into the infinite transpersonal field, the ripples go out and touch others, in ways we can’t predict and may never know.
Shine your Light into the psychic field and watch it come back to you a thousandfold, just as light is reflected and refracted back through water or crystal.
Times are hard. We have work to do. And the most important work of all may be the simplest: to offer kindness, to share a smile, to be a sanctuary in the storm.
